Teaching Tips - Skits
by Mark & Paul
One of the best ways to teach and to keep people involved is to use skits. Many people love to read scripture, lead worship, and even lead a prayer. However, many do not know how good they could be at ministering through skits because they have never been given the chance.
I have talked with several preachers and ministers who tried using skits but felt like their group may not take it seriously. That may be true in some cases, but you have to give it a chance. There are people who get excited when we try something new. So it may be different and loud from time to time. Try being consistent and hang in there for a while. Explain to your group that they are learning and teaching by doing. They are also ministering to others at the same time.
Do not be afraid to let your group write the skits. The more they do, the more they learn. As a starting pointing ask a group of three or four to write a skit about the Good Samaritan or the lepers that Jesus healed. The sky is the limit, go for it.
